No ASIO option EMU 0404 PCI with Windows 7 install!

I'm wondering if someone has seen this and knows of the solution.
I have a EMU 0404 PCI, I downloaded the latest drivers and app.

The drivers are WDM by defualt. In patchmix, there's only a few options for creating sessions. Just the product default and some powerfx, emulater and RMAA. Anyway, I can't go 24bit in Sonar. Doesn't let me.

Should I install as compatiblity for XP or something?

Sonar, Les Paul Studio, FTU, puter, plugs.........

Maybe WDM is all they have written right now. WDM driver mode is just as good as ASIO. There is no sound quality difference. and instead of 1.2ms, you may get 1.5ms. Its impossible to hear that...

How are you changing the bit depth? Are you doing it in the global folder (options/global/audio data??). You should be.

If you want, try the 2nd to last drivers.
    Try a reinstall

Just change the driver in sonar options / audio to asio. Apply. Then go into options / audio / drivers and make sure the 0404 inputs and outputs are checked. Apply. Then go back to the main options / audio panel and adjust your latency. I had no trouble running around 10ms roundtrip. The asio drivers are the way to go with the 0404 though. I did have to bump up the buffers to 512.

The patchmix session templates always seemed to be someplace else for me. They were never in the location that opened by default, but were in something like program files / creative pro or something like that. After I'd used it a bit I created my own and saved it as the default.

For some reason though, when changing drivers from wdm to asio in sonar under win 7 I had to quit and restart sonar before it would show the asio drivers. So the way it worked....Change from WDM to asio. apply, quit sonar, restart sonar, then select the asio drivers. Until I restarted it did not show the asio drivers.

Weird, but that's what I had to do.

Just change the driver in sonar options / audio to asio.

so there is ASIo. He made it seem like he couldnt use asio.
RE-reading his post again and i see it now. Also, you should never use what sonar defualts to, its just a default and is not set for optimal performance. Yuo need to tweak the ASIO or WDM settigns and see what driver mode works best for you

I can confirm my E-Mu 1820m does work with Windows 7 64 bit and Sonar 64 bit. like what was stated before, you must go into the Audio menu in Sonar and switch to ASIO. I was a bit confused for a few minutes as WDM was the default after installing the E-mu drivers.

    home brew PC as follows:
    Windows 7  x64 bit
    Intel Q9550 cpu
    Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 MB
    Corsair 8GB DDR-2 1066 (PC2 8500) RAM
    RME UFX interface
    Sonar X1  64 bit
    Edirol PCR-800 controller
    Rapture
    BFD2
    Jamstix3
    Korg PadKontrol
    Guitar Rig 4 Pro

mostly PSP and Voxengo VST plugs
