No Feeling - Instrumental

Hey'all. I have a vocal, just haven't recorded it yet.
https://soundcloud.com/joshua-barnes/no-feeling-no-vocal

I tried some new tricks to spread the sound and get some bigness. Hell, I even tried to master it separately from the mixdown process which yielded some surprising results.

Love to hear feedback on;
1. likability
2. mix (especially small speakers)
3. other things your mind thinks of.

I know the vocal always changes the impression of a tune - but still curious what you think since it's been awhile since I've completed or posted anything - been a long hiatus.

    2. great
    3.  could be a couple ticks faster tempo, it's right on the edge of dragging a little.

    Joshua, it's good to hear from you again after so long.  Hope you're doing OK.  As for this song, it's hard for me to comment on a chord progression as naked as this one.  Your engineering chops have always been strong, and they are this time.  To me, you're one of the more compelling singers I've heard, so I'll wait until you complete this song before I get too serious with my comments.  All I can say is; let 'er rip!

    All the best,
    Lynn

    Hey Josh, long time no hear... good to have you back.  As for the track- I listened on my pc speakers, and they were breaking up pretty bad.  From experience with my own tracks I know this usually means I need to hi pass the bass and the kick drum.  It also seemed like the track may have been over-compressed or run too hot through a maximizer. Anyway, I'm sorry to say that I couldn't really evaluate the track due to the distortion on my speakers.  I regret that because I remember how good you were!

    Hey Josh - nice rockin' stuff!  your guitar work always is excellent, IMO.  this song does beg for vocals, tho!  I'd love to hear that when it's worked out!

    Sounds very good already so I'm also curious what the finished song will be like. (Please don't comment my current tune because I want to post my newest tune after it has gone to the second page).

    You have a very nice base to work from on this. Speaking of bass (see what I did there ) this comes across very nice and clear. Looking forward to hearing the finished article.
