No Lexicon in X1c Which Sonar plugs are permanent?

I clean-installed X1c on a new 64bit machine and moved my projects across from my old XP PC with 8.5.3

Projects that use the Lexicon Pantheon plug that came with 8.5.3 Producer no longer find the plug.

I made screenshots of the options when I installed X1c. The Lexicon is not listed!

I copied the Lexicon DLLs across, but it still does not work. Sonar X1 does not show them, even after a rescan. And it does not show up on the plugs dialog.

This is going to cost me several evenings on current projects, let alone archived projects.

In future, I shall not be tempted by offers of bundled 3rd party plugs.

Apart from Sonitus, which plugs can one rely on being available in subsequent versions of Sonar?

I re-ran my 8.5 install disk, being careful to deselect ALL install components except Lexicon and that put it back for me.  It's a DXi plugin and Cakewalk has abandoned that protocol.  I think you'll find a lot of users have reinstalled it, so there's further information on other threads if you do a search.

I'm not even sure you can forever count on sonitus.  yeah, sonitus has been around for a long time, but there are no guarantees that cake will continue to bundle it with sonar.  that's why I always keep previous versions on my machine as well.

There's no guarantees for any of them I wouldn't have thought, but the important thing is if you've used them in previous versions you must have it. Therefore as suggested install it from the latest version it was present in.

With some VSTs they need installing as opposed to just the dll copying across.

Google a program called Effects Chainer. It will wrap just about anything including DX and DXi and make then availabkle in an x64 host. It's free.

effects chainer becomes the plugin and you can load your DX into it. works a real treat.

DX Shell is another tool to have o your kit for DX plugs when on an x64 host.

...It's a DXi plugin and Cakewalk has abandoned that protocol...
    Point of order...

Cakewalk still supports DX/DXi.  The Sonitus plugs are all DX...and they still work.  (I doubt that they will pull a Steiny and drop DX host support any time soon.)  It would appear that they are definitely edging away from the protocol for new development.  For instance, they dropped DXi support for Dimension Pro.

As for the OPs question...which plugs are permanent...  Assume that none of them are.  That's why it's a good idea to keep all of your previous installation media for new machine builds...and never delete previous versions on existing machines.
