No Matter What - Badfinger Cover
Was watching the In-Laws starring Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks that other night and the movie ends with No Matter What by Badfinger. Always liked the song so decided to take a stab at a cover version. Problem, I cannot sing. Anyone on the forum interested in singing this tune, along with the backing vocals? Updated SoundClick Link with Vocal version (featuring RLD on vocals) http://www.soundclick.com...ult.cfm?bandid=1014791 Regards

I used to sing this a few nights a week... don't think I could do it today :-) I think you did a great job on everything and sure wish I could have sung in front of this performance. Really nice.

I love this song. I'll do it. Since there's only one harmony and it sounds fine with just the lead I can bang this out tonight. I'm supposed to be doing peace of mind as well. I've nearly got that completed.... just send me the mp3 and I'll send you back the vocal track.

Really really well done Mark! The guitars need to be a bit dirtier IMO, but this really sounds great and you nailed the performance for sure. Dan

Well, I can't sing it, but it brings back memories as my band opened for Bandfinger in 1970. Great bunch of guys that could sing quite clearly, but in the dressing room their Liverpool accent was so bad I couldn't understand most of what they said. They all sounded like Mike Myers doing his Ron Wood impersonation! Really! Daryl

Great backing version. Whoever sings over this should have no complaints.

Vocal tracks are done. Just send me the FTP login and I'll upload them. I mixed them down already panned, comp'd and effected. So, you just send them to the mains, mess with the volume and if you like perhaps do some eq...

Nice Job RLD. I figured there would be an official version by now so I was sitting on the version I took the liberty of recording for myself last Saturday morning. Here is my version with my squeaky top end of my range excuse for vocals. I did 3 passes and was sort of disappointed that none deserved to be front and center. So I went LCR and walked away with my head hung low. http://www.harmoniccycle....20Want%2009a%20MQv.mp3 I did enjoy the fact that I still had the phrasing in my head. Someday soon I'll do a song in my range. :-) We used to play this tune 2 steps down. I think the tracks were simply fantastic to sing too... thanks for sharing the track... and please, if my posting is out of line... just tell me and I'll pull it. best regards, mike

Thanks Anniedog. Thanks Mike. Interesting treatment you've done there. I double tracked my lead part, but kept them centered. I spread out the harmony and "ahh" part a bit. It's funny to listen to the original Badfinger track. All sorts of flaws. ( by todays standards)

I've got a cold...so there's a delay. Hopefully by the weekend. I've got a cheap version I did like yours, but I'd rather wait for Mark to do the mixing with wav files rather than mixing a wave into an MP3

Added updated link at the top of thread, and below, with a vocal version of the song I had previously posted an instrumental version only. Several people responded with interest in singing the tune. Here is one of those versions. This version is featuring fellow forum member RLD on vocals. I will post other versions when I get all the RAW vocal tracks. http://www.soundclick.com...ult.cfm?bandid=1014791 Regards
