No Midi Inputs Listed! Help!

I am still setting up and finally got the Midi output to work by selecting use MME, however with my mic set up and on there are no inputs listed even after running the Wave profiler. What am I doing wrong? Am using Windows XP on a laptop and I think my soundcard is Conexant AMC Audio. In Audio options it does list my recording wave device as the Conexant AMC audio.

Thanks for your help,
Harpgirl

Do you have a MIDI input device (keyboard, drum machine, etc.)? If so, which one?

One what are you plugging the mike into? look under the options/audio/general tab and see that is listed under the record and playback boxes. you sound car dshould be listed as both record and playback, and under the drivers card, then make sure that you run the profiler again , and then click the little speaker icon in the corner of the computers window, and see if the line in and mike in are activated or checked, and not turned off.
