No audio, nothing seems to work

I've gone through all of the tutorials, help, and website and have followed all of the instructions, however there is no audio coming out.  I've opened the Mixing Tutorial Complete project, and hit play and no sound comes out, although the tracks' individual levels are going up and down as if it was making sound.

MME (32 bit) is selected in the preferences, they playback device is my main speakers output, yet no sound comes out.

tell us about the computer, the operating system,  the sound card and the version of Music Creator you are using. Also any external things you are using as well.

Don't worry..... It took me the better part of a week before I was able to get it to reproduce some music. I was really getting torqued.

I also discovered, and I still do not know why, but I have not been able to get the laptop I have to play music with the factory sound card. I've been doing this music thing for many years, and have assisted many others in the meantime, but I have always had to use an external soundcard with the laptop. Maybe I'm just thick.... or maybe it's this particular computer.

On the plus side... 99.999% of all people can generally get it to play on their machines.

Try right clicking the MC icon and select "Run as Administrator" and see if that does anything for you. Sometimes it does. As the Admin, run the wave profiler again.

Be sure to use MME driver mode, and let the Wave Profiler run to properly ID the sound card.  If there are any audio demo's in it, try playing that demo. If not, you can simply open the program to a new project and import any wave or MP3 song into a track. Audio is easier to use to get it working.

Also ... well you said you did the tutorials.... maybe have another look because they are helpful on getting started.

The main thing to understand is to have patience. It can take a bit of time working on a forum site to solve a problem but sticking with it will eventually get it done. Other users here will pop in with ideas.

    - IDT High Definition (onboard) sound

    - Also wish to use M Audio Keystation 61es, but that's a whole other topic; I'll deal with that later...

Tried running as Administrator, no change.

    remember basic routing:
    input/outputs.
this software has no idea what you want so you need to instruct it.
    tell it your speakers/output/soundcard
tell it your input M Audio Keystation 61es/microphone/exc.

im not going to confuse you so im going to back off because herb is a good guy and knows best.

    just remember-input/ouput.

go through your settings my friend  :)

everybody should join in and offer ideas because sometimes I just forget a detail or miss it.

Yes, how routing is set up is very important but that is especially critical in soft synths, which is why I said import some audio into a new default project.... routing is set correctly in the default and audio is the simplest way to check to see if the sound card is set correctly.

With audio, if you press play and you see the meters moving and showing green movement.... but still no sound, the sound card is not seeing the audio from the MC output..... everything in MC would likely be correct, but the connection is not allowing it into the sound card inputs.
