No audio tracks, but tempo ratio buttons disabled

I started out my project with a template that had an audio track, but I deleted it before starting. My project is now 100% midi, but Sonar 4 doesn't agree: my tempo ratio buttons are disabled. Any way to get them back?

I have had exactly the same problem.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why we cannot use the ratio buttons when we have soft synths or audio groove clips in the project? I do not see why we can still change the tempo but the ratio buttons become locked. I do see why it becomes a problem when you have "normal" recorded audio data.

    Thanks

That's simply one more thing that CW left behind a long time ago.. it's a part pf Sonar's evolution i guess

I searched out this old thread, because I have found the same was true (tempo ratio buttons disabled) as soon as TTS-1 soft synth is added to a project. Is this true of all soft synths, and if so, is it really necessary from an architectural point of view, or is this a bug? Something to do with "Freezing" implementation, maybe? Also, removing the TTS-1 did not restore the ratio buttons; I had to delete the one MIDI track in the project, even though its output had never even been assigned to the TTS-1.

    Thoughts?
