I had exactly the same problem, which was resolved very quickly with a phone call to Cake. Annoying, yes (especially as it's an international call for me).
I know of others who have had the same problem too. Some waited a lot longer than me (days) and eventually got a serial number via email. Others had to call or email support. Hang in there - it's worth it!
