Do recorded audio and other FX and soft synths work fine? Is it only the drum plugins that are on strike? Does the cursor move when you press playback? Do the level meters jump when during playback? Have you tried Input Echo on/off? Something is obviously wrong, so your saying "I know how to use them" doesn't sound convincing :o) So why not tell us how you have them inserted, which ttracks created and what are the inputs and outputs (unless it was the Input Echo :o).

Internal routing through superior drummer, or a setting maybe? Is it possible to mute from within superior drummer? I don't have it so can't help with that side. As long as you have moving meters on the output and it's routed to you main out there's no reason it shouldn't sound. I'd double check your track/buss routing first and go from there.

Are you running 64 bit or 32 ? If 64 bit, are the versions of the plugins 64 bit (or compatible), are you using BitBridge or JBridge? Is your soundcard and SONAR set to the same sample rate? Garbled sound may be due to sample rate mismatch. But then again, it shouldn't be limited to drum tracks. Did you insert the drum plugins through Synth Rack?

This sounds like an outdated version to me. Superior Drummer have had a few hickups with Sonar. In 64-bit Sonar, it was nessesary to bridge the SD2 VST with jBridge to have it work at all before the 64-bit VST came in an update some 6 months or so ago. With 32-bit I think it was working fine. BUT with the latest update it's working great in both 64-bit and 32-bit without any need for jBridge so just get that and if it still doesn't work, there's some serious troubleshooting needed. You could also have a look at this link from the Toontrack website.

Hello thank you for responding.I have sonar x1 on a 64 bit windows 7 system.Yea the sound isn't garbled it is non existent from either superior drums and session drummer,I have checked everything I can think of,It makes no sense to me.I uninstalled the drumming program and reinstalled it as well but no luck. And i tries inserting the drums through the insert drop down and the synth rack.I dont know which i believe I have bit bridge. It has all worked before so I dont understand this.It says I am using 2.21 I think on superior drums, and I downloaded the update from toontrack,at least the onhly one I saw. HEEElp,this is so damn frustrating,Thanks for taking your time to help me

Hey there! Weird that you are experiencing the same problem with Session Drummer. However, the latest SD version is 2.3.0 and I highly recomend installing that over the 2.21 version. I wish I could send you a link but it's a protected update so that's impossible. Have you installed the 64-bit version of Sonar? Have you installed the 64-bit version of Superior Drummer? If you try to open the 32-bit version of SD in 64-bit Sonar you won't get any sound. BitBridge doesn't work and jBridge is flakey. Use the latest version of SD and make sure both Sonar and SD is installed in either 32-bit or 64-bit versions. Now, since you are experiencing these things with Session Drummer as well I'm thinking that it might be something with the way you insert the VSTs maybe? So I am going to ask you a really stupid question and I really mean no offence but I just feel like asking to make sure that this isn't the reason: When inserting the synth, do you get the insert synth properties? If so, is "Insert Simple Instrument Track" or "Insert Audio Output" and "Insert MIDI Track" check boxes ticked? Without these you don't get any sound. But I assume you can successfully insert other VSTs and get sound?

Well if we concentrate on getting session drummer 3 working first we can hopefully eliminate any 64 bit plug / bit bridge issue. Assuming everything else installed correctly with X1, session drummer 64 should have aswell. I would open a default / blank template, go to synth rack and add session drummer. In the properties window select....... (hang on, i'm at work trying to imagine the little window) "use first synth audio output" and deselect erverything else. Now still in the synth rack double click to bring up the instrument (session drummer 3) interface. and mouse click on the drums Do you here the drum sounds? Do the track / bus meteres move? If yes than we can move onto adding a MIDI track to trigger session drummer. If not we need to look further into your input / output routing. Hope it help (maybe a bit back to basics, my apologies if so) Thanks Dean
