No sound in playback...
Everything has been functioning and performing normally for my project in Music Creator 7 (using OS Windows 10). And then, suddenly, while re-opening the project for further track additions, the following error screens popped up, and I experienced no audio during playback. Any suggestions? 1. "There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system. Please go to edit | Preferences | Playback and Record and choose a different driver model." (Which I did. However, with the same results. Still no audio.) 2. "The following tracks and buses are currently assigned to a silent hardware output. The items listed below will be silent in your project until their outputs are assigned to an appropriate hardware output." and "Master" is indicated below the message. Keep in mind that, while recording, saving and closing my project, I had not changed a single setting. Yours, me

...By the way; all other previous projects (so far as I can tell) are playing back fine.

This situation has officially become frustrating. Even after uninstalling and re-installing Music Creator 7, problems still abound. In so far as the aforementioned current project is concerned; the first error pop-up ("There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system...etc.) I indicated in my initial message now does not appear. But the "Silent Bus Detected" message—the one that reads "The following tracks and buses are currently assigned to a silent hardware output. The items listed below will be silent in your project until their outputs are assigned to an appropriate hardware output" and "Master" is indicated below the message—still appears at the onset while opening the project. And still no audio. When I click on "Master" in the track listing to attempt a fix, there seems to be no way to change settings. To add insult to injury, now, none of my previous projects have sound! And, recording additional tracks is disabled. All of this happened suddenly, and without provocation. I never adjusted any sound card or application setting. I will continue to delve into this, but in the meantime; does anyone have a possible explanation, suggestion or remedy? Thanks in advance.

Do you have ASIO4ALL installed? It has issues initializing with Cakewalk products sometimes. If you do, try opening the ASIO4ALL config dialog BEFORE opening MC7 Glen

You have not mentioned which driver mode you are using. I would suggest trying different modes and go with whichever one works.

Hello Kev999, It is true that I never mentioned which driver mode I am using. However, I have mentioned repeatedly that, prior to this problem, I had not changed a single setting. Perhaps I'm ignorant, but my question would be; why would a previously-functioning chosen driver mode suddenly stop working, or change without my intervention? FYI; the setting I had it on when this situation happened was MME (32-bit). I had experimentally changed driver mode to every available setting (all four choices). That was one of the first things I did. However, the problem remains. Thanks

After you change the driver setting, try closing the program, warm start computer reboot, open the program and see if you now have playback audio. Computers can be finicky sometimes and you have to do more than usual to get things to work. Why did the issue start in the first place? No idea.
