No sound in some Sonar X1 projects.

Hello everyone, I'm brand new to the forum and I hope someone can help me with a problem I'm having. I had previously been using the Alpha Lexicon interface when working on projects until I started having problems with Sonar X1 recognizing the Asio Drivers. It got so frustrating that I decided to purchase the Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX (Also I had just bought a new mic that needed phantom power so this killed two birds with one stone - so I thought). At any rate, now that I have the mixer hooked up, I only get Asio4all as an option on my audio choices in Sonar X1. The weird thing is, I can't hear any sound from any of my prior projects. The master is routed to ASIO4all and I can see the levels moving within sonar as if it's playing but no sound through my monitors. Conversely, if I just play a random midi song downloaded from the internet, it all plays fine through sonar. With that though I notice that the outputs are routed to WDM. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. P.S. Alesis Multimix8USB FX has no drivers on the Alesis website. I'm still within my grace period for returning the Alesis, wondering if I should consider something else. My setup is: HP (AMD) with Windows 7 - 64, Sonar X1, Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX, KRK Rokit 5.

    def a driver issue.

    i'm not sure what the difference is between your usb fx and the usb 2.0 fx, but that one has drivers. try using those drivers.

    also, this might be of interest, since you can return your unit...

    Thanks dlion 16. I've been experimenting all day and I finally figured out that my MS GS Wavetable Synth was checked off in my midi devices. Once I unchecked that, the sound came through. Then I tried to record vocals and the volume is way too low compared to when I used the Alpha. I have the gain almost as far as it can go and also the volume control on the mic channel. Plus it supposedly records in stereo but I can barely see the audio waves that I usually see in sonar when I record. I know there's always a learning curve (especially for me, lol) but this is just frustrating. I'm wondering if I should seek out a simpler interface that has phantom power and good drivers that would work well with Sonar. I don't record bands or use a mixer for live shows so I may just need a simpler set up. Thanks for those links. Looking into it now.

    Oh and I forgot to mention, now that the sound is working, the hissing, squealing and popping is awful. I asume from previous posts I've read that this is attributed to using ASIO4all. I'm again experimenting with the latency but I'm so missing my Alpha right now. I'm supposed to record someone this weekend coming up and I may have to go back to the Alpha somehow.
