No sound

I have a house computer--not the one attached to my instruments--that I would like to play Sonar thru. The sound does work for other applications, but I cannot get it to work thru Sonar. In other words, there is no sound at all.
When I go to "Options," and choose MIDI devices, MS  GS Wavetable appears on the output box, and it is checked. Nothing appears on the Input box.
However, when I play anything--such as a sample file, I see that each audio track is assigned to Master. The Master output has "none" assigned to it. I cannot find any choices other than "new bus." Also, whenever I open Sonar, it says there are no audio devices connected--or something like that. Any suggestions?
I have an Intel Core i5 CPU Dell computer, c 6.0 GB RAM, at 3.2 GHz.

Thanks.

I kept trying other things--even though I had tried for a long time before posting this message. I then tried to NOT use ASIO drivers, and choose WDW/KS instead. I now am able to get sound. Thank you all anyway.

I was just going to say it sounds like you are using the onboard soundcard.  if WDM doesn't work then try MME.  ASIO won't work for onboard soundcard (99% of the time) unless you download and install ASIO4ALL.
