No sound?!? sonar 8.0.2 and FA-66

Hey all..
let me give you some background on what im running:

PC - AMD Athlon
       XP pro service pack 2
       2.6Ghz 2G Ram

Am running Cakewalk sonar 8.0.2..
I have the Roland FA-66 audio Capture connected via firewire and its also connected to its own DC mains lead.

I have been through all the correct processes in the manuals to both install the FA-66 driver and to make it work with sonar but i am still not able to hear anything when clicking play (i am playing 'tutorial 1' which came with sonar)

I know that the FA-66 is correctly installed etc as when i play a song through itunes the sound is going through the FA-66 and out the monitor speakers and headphones i have connected.

I have looked on the cakewalk site and tried using the settings when the driver mode is either 'WDM' or 'ASIO'.

The sound card/driver in my pc is the nVidia nForce Audio.
Even if i try to just use the pc driver and uninstall the FA-66 driver is still wont allow me to record or listen to anything played on Sonar.

So basically, i cant hear anything being played when i click play on the 'tutorial 1' file and if i start a new project in sonar, i can't record  anything. note; i can hear through the monitor speakers a guitar or mic which is plugged into the FA-66 when sonar is NOT running!

I hope this information isnt too confusing and i hope that someone can help! My knowledge on computers and this stuff isnt amazing but if any questions are need to be asked to get this sorted then ask away :)
hope we've all had a good xmas and are looking forward to the new year :)
thanks

Jim

I am new to this so I dont know if this will help, I think you have to put the in  and out of each track ex. in fa-661 left mono; out fa-663stereo.    sorry I could not be more help.

Make sure the channels for your audio device are selected in the "Drivers" tab in Audio Options and deselect any audio channels for nVidia nForce Audio.  Also, if you play any audio through iTunes or Media Player or whatever before you open Sonar, Sonar will not produce any audio.

Have you tried this:  Insert a softsynth and select "Simple instrument track" and "Synth Property Page" when the "Insert Soft Synth Options" box appears.  That will set up the MIDI and Audio tracks as needed and open the softsynth's GUI.  Make sure you have a sound loaded into the softsynth.  Then set the Input of the track to Omni and the Output to your soundcard.
