So recording and playback of audio did work with some other drivers, and inputs and outputs are now exactly the same as before ASIO (when audio was working) ? Is it both playback and recording that aren't working? What kind of audio are we talking about - playback of soft synths or recording of drums with microphones? Please give a proper description of the situation. I don't have a lot of energy to start milking for details.

REcording of audio did work with previous drivers, but latency was too far off, even after I tweeked it. Im recording guitar via LIne 6's UX1 interface. Both playback and recording are volume-less. Input and output are different now I have selected ASIO. They state: Lest ASIO UX1 send 1-2 ASIO UX1 output 1-2 Any help is appreciated. Matthew

You certainly need to use ASIO drivers with the UX1. Other drivers modes will work fine only if you are not using the device for any recording. Have you run the Line 6 Monkey and downloaded the latest updates?

Just ran Line 6 monkey, got all updates. Still have the same problem. Is there anything I can do In Podfarm to help the lack of volume and/or latency issue?

mattmobster Is there anything I can do In Podfarm to help the lack of volume and/or latency issue? Leave PodFarm aside for now. You need to get the UX1 working firstly with Windows and then with Sonar. Or have you done this already?

OK, kinda sorted. Got ASIO going. NOW. When I play guitar via UX1, I hear a double sound. Im pretty sure that its because I hear UX1 first, then hear HS7 with its latency. How can I change this? Matthew

In "Preferences", What are all your I/O buffers, Bit Rates, etc... set to? What and how are you using for a sound card and monitoring? Just curious here. Also if you could be a little more"specific" on your computer specs. ( Processor, memory, etc...) Make sure your settings on your Interface/Line6 match what X1 is set to and in preferences check to make sure on inputs and outputs that the Line6 is selected/checked in both

Thanks for the help! As far as I can tell, Sonar record and playback buffer size are both set to 125 Sample rate set to 44100 Using LIne 6 UX1. Headphones from the UX1 to monitor The UX1 does not show up on My Computer, so I cant get to its preferences. But when I open UX1 via start menu, it states sample rate 44100, bit depth 16bit, default buffer 512, default bit 16. Buffer size is on extra small. Pentium4 2.40Ghz 1 GB RAM ( I know I need more! ) Thanks Mike

Plus on playback, the guitar sounds awful, and when I try to add bass, it cuts in and out. CPusage meter is about 1/4!?

mattmobster But when I open UX1 via start menu, it states sample rate 44100, bit depth 16bit, default buffer 512, default bit 16. Buffer size is on extra small. 24-bit would be better. Click the Input & Recording tab. What is Input Select set to?

mattmobster When I play guitar via UX1, I hear a double sound. Im pretty sure that its because I hear UX1 first, then hear HS7 with its latency. Are both sounds coming through the headphones, or is one of the sounds coming from speakers? Do you have another soundcard (e.g. Realtek) enabled? Does the UX1 work ok in Sonar when not recording? Does the UX1 work ok outside of Sonar?

Both sounds via headphones. No other soundcard is enabled ( mine is realtek ) UX1 works in Sonar when no track is playing - the minute it does it breaks up UX1 works fine outside of Sonar.

OK Matt, this is my first thought on the setup. Disable Realtek and set UX1 as Default sound device. Plug your head phones into the UX1 I would set your record and playback I/O buffers in X1 to match UX1 (512). Also as recommended above, I would try and see why UX1 isnt displaying correctly to be selected in X1 or in Windows. Then try and see what ya come up with. Let me know, Just curious

Ok. Kinda got things sorted. The only 2 issues now are: When I recorded a guitar, the sound broke up badly. It seems that if thers too much going on ( 1 midi track and 1 audio track? ) it freaks out and breaks up. My CPU meter is barely on 1/4 usage. Did an experimental mixdown to mp3. Volume was very low. Your help has been appreciated thus far! m

I just checked this evening and there are new drivers for the UX-1 and 2. I updated them a couple of weeks ago so these are really new. If you don't have it, get it and then look in your control panel for the Line6 ASIO panel. Also, the UX has direct monitoring so latency shouldn't be a problem. HTH, Julien
