Noise From NI Synth Plug-Ins
I'm getting digital clicks/pops when using NI synth plug-ins, Absynth seems to be the worst. I don't notice it with Cakewalk synths. Any ideas would be appreciated.

More info is needed for anyone to help.
Audio interface, driver mode and settings.
Do the problems occur in stand alone and/or in a DAW. If in a DAW which one.
Have you the latest updates from NI.
Any other system info.

My first thought is that you have your buffer size set too low?

My system is below. It happens in Sonar Platinum and stand alone. I installed the latest updates from NI. Increasing the buffer doesn't have an effect. Buffer size: 5.8ms 256 samples Driver mode: Asio Dithering: Triangular Use multiprocessing engine Use MMCSS Always Stream Audio Through FX Command audition length: 3 ASUS X99-A w/ 3.3GHz Intel I7-5820K, 16Gb RAM Roland OctaCapture interface Windows 7 64-bit

I was suprised to find running in WASPI mode in Komplete Kontrol rather than ASIO I tried a lot of Absynth patches as a test and experienced no issues, however I have in the past noticed some very occasional noises when using Arturia synths in Komplete Kontrol stand alone. I will chance to ASIO and see if that goes away. In Sonar I am using ASIO 256 samples Effective latency 5.8ms. Everything else is the same as yours, but I do have 64 bit double precision OFF. - no issues with Absynth. The same ASIO settings in Absynth stand alone - no issues detected. My interface is a Quad Capture so it should be similar to yours, however the bid difference is I am on Windows 10 and the driver was updated by Windows 10.

A bit more, changing my Komplet Kontrol standalone seems to have cured the occasional crackeling I had with the Arturia synths. Absynth does not exhibit any problems. As i cannot reproduce your problem I don't know what else to suggest other than to check you have the most recent updates to the synths and your drivers.

Thanks Glyn for the assistance. I decided to upgrade to Windows 10 and that made the problem worse, more clicks and crackling. You didn't have to update your Quad Capture drivers manually?

Windows 10 found and updated the driver automatically. Sorry to hear that it made it worse.
Do check all your settings, if you have not done so already. They may have changed during the upgrade.
The fact its just the NI synths is odd.
I wonder if you have some sort of conflict happening, for example I have heard that some video drivers can interfere with audio drivers but have no experience of this.
You may get more suggestions if you post in the main Sonar forum (if your. DAW is Sonar) linking this thread.
You could try the NI forum. It can be a bit hit and miss but there are helpful people there.

Still trying to figure this out. The Octa-Capture Control Panel takes about 5 seconds to open when Windows starts and Absynth takes 1 or 2 seconds to open. Is this normal?

My Quadcapture control panel does not open when windows starts. If I launch it manualy it starts almost instantly. Absynth opens pretty quickly (stand alone) Certainly less than a second.

Or you audio card and the synth aren't at the same settings. You have to set them at what you want on the stand alone's for them to work in the DAW.
