Nomad Factory Bundled EQs - Pulse-Tec EQs
Months ago, this Pulse-Tec eq was an absolute steal at Don't Crack, so I grabbed it. http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=39&products_id=402 Waves and IK also have emulations of this famed module, but there's a whole pack of Nomad Factory EQ's in Sonar that don't get enough appreciation, like the bundled PEQ2B and the PEQ5B. If you haven't considered a Blue Tubes plugin lately, give 'em a go. With the Pulse-Tec, just flipping the switch adds some sweet color.

another +1. It was $9.99 about a year ago and I don't tink too many passed on it. And I agree the Blue Tubes that come with Sonar are better than they get credit for.
It's Bass, not Bass. i7 2700K, 16GB DDR3, 2 SSD sample drives and OS drive, HDD SATAIII for projects, 2 24" monitors Focusrite Saffire Pro 24, Focusrite VRM Box, LAVA Lamp, SONAR Platinum 64 bit, Mackie MCU and 1 MCU XT, Akai Advance 49, Windows 10, Komplete 9 Ultimate, Cakewalk, Toontrack, IK, AAS, XLN, UVI, Air Music Tech, Waves Factory, Sample Tek and Sonivox VSTi's. There's a general tendency to regard plugins that come with a DAW as in some way inferior. Sometimes that's true - e.g. Logic's compressors are OK, the eq works OK, but most of the other plugins, especially in the "effects" categories, aren't exactly brilliant. The bundled plugs with Sonar Plat. though are uniformly good. I can work with Plat using just the Cake provided stuff, only need to add third party stuff for a different "colour".
Sonar Platinum 64bit, Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, I7 3770K Ivybridge, 16GB Ram, Gigabyte Z77-D3H m/board, ATI 7750 graphics+ 1GB RAM, 2xIntel 520 series 220GB SSDs, 1 TB Samsung F3 + 1 TB WD HDDs, Seasonic fanless 460W psu, RME Fireface UFX, Focusrite Octopre. Assorted real synths, guitars, mandolins, diatonic accordions, percussion, fx and other stuff.

Nope, Mike. Don't want these Dutchies in ma house. As long as I can keep FabFilter at bay, I know the Devil of Gas won't get my soul.

As I tried to improve my skills and increase my knowledge, I watched a lot of YouTube tutorials. So many of the techniques were demo'd on plugins I didn't have in Sonar. As I've said before, it's taken me time and money to discover what works for me and which plugins I like. I guess the downside to this digital domain is having so many possibilities a mouse-click and credit card number away. But, that Pulse-Tec for $10 was worth it.

I picked up Waves PuigTec version ($79 vs stupid $299 list). Not nearly as good of a deal, but sweet-sounding EQs nonetheless. I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there with BOTH and can offer feedback on the differences.

Got that Waves PuigTec for $17 last December. So cheap I didn't even open it. Now I have to.

Anytime a plug will improve the sound by just putting it on the track, I'm in. And Fab Filter is from your neck of the woods isn't it? Are there any made in Minnesota? That aren't just polka plugs, I mean. -15 degrees this morning and the wind is soup hosed to come up a bit later. Better put on your fur lined speedo's today.

At last some winter in Brussels. Minus one, and that's Celsius, not Fahrenheit.
