"Until December 31, 2011, any customer that owns the previous version of the highly acclaimed MAGNETIC Plug-in can UPGRADE to MAGNETIC II for $20 or move to the "Integral Studio Pack" for ONLY $99 !!!" This is a little confusing to me. Does this mean that the Inegral Studio Pack could be purchased for only $99 or does it mean that one can get $99 off the $1199 price?

I tried for the magnetic II discount and although I had a serial number and generated a discount code, when I tried to check out the web page told me although I had a valid code, I didnt meet the requirements of the exclusions that were in the email I received (which I didnt, I got the info from this thread!!)Anyway I went for the $99 deal Integral Studio Pack III UPGRADE , which includes magnetic II and other plugs. I already have a few of their plug ins which I like.

I've been reading elsewhere where there's problems with the website, validations & general confusion with the way the deals & upgrades were released. I'm still demoing Magnetic, not sure if I'm going to purchase & will just wait a week or two until it's all sorted out.

Magnetic II has Studer 80 settings and more....

I just got Magnetic II. For $79 this is great. It sounds great, actually just like Magnetic I; HOWEVER, when I click on the other Tape Models like the Studer ones, I can not hear any difference between these new settings and the Magnetic II default. I guess this is just my failing ears or that Magnetic II default is just so good. So, do any of you other Tape guru's out there hear any difference in the Tape models on Magnetic II? EDIT: It's a miracle! Not really, I cleaned the wax out of my ears and I can hear the difference. Well, no actual wax was cleaned. I just played with the reel speed setting and set it down to 1.x or 3.x and turned the wow up and I can hear a difference in the Tape Modes.

Hey cecelius2 ol pal, did you have any trouble scanning Magnetic II or did you already own Magnetic before you updated? I can't get it to load into Sonar although it's definitely installed and authorized.

Hey Carl! Full Integral Studio Pack upgrade question

All you need to do is enter any previous Nomad Factory serial number from the Nomad Factory website. I just tried to load my new Magnetic II serial number, which I just received this morning, into the link, and it said, it could not find a serial number. It's after hours in Nomad land and I will check back in the am. Anyone had any luck using a recent serial number for this upgrade? Or is this double-dipping (buying the Magnetic II for $79 and using the serial number to upgrade to the ISP?

Well, I got my Magnetic II downloaded, installed and authorized with no problems and the PlugIn Manager in Sonar sees it along with my original Magnetic. But it will not load up in Sonar at all. All my other nomad plugs will including the original version of Magnetic...but not the new Magnetic II. Plus just after installing and authorizing my VST scans in Sonar went nutty...I suddenly had to re-authorize my Korg legacy Edition and Amplitube 3 wouldn't scan at first. I'm sure this will all get worked out but the new Magnetic II seems a bit sketchy so far.

@ cecelius2: I got the Analog Mastering plugs on the 14th(two days ago). I used that serial number to get the $99 deal and it went through without a hitch. @yorolpal: Magnetic loaded fine for me. No problems at all. This is on my Vista machine. Haven't loaded it on my XP machine yet. Oh and BTW, I didn't let it install the C+++ stuff that it wanted to. I just didn't accept the Microsoft agreement and it closed. Everything working fine.

The C++ stuff, is that the issue? I let that update??? This is why we "image" our drives BEFORE we load new software! Haven't gone down that road yet...

I plan on eventually getting the UAD 2, but since I only have a UAD 1 right now, and the magentic is WAY cheaper... Also, IMO since I started using magnetic on my mixes they have improved. They just seem to mesh better, and have a bit more sparkle.

I alternate between UAD's Studer and Magnetic (one). Probably they are the same to me because no matter which one I grab first, I never say 'Nooooo give the other one). I have not tried Waves tape em.

Can't use Magnetic II serial number for ISP upgrade

I just got this from Nomad Factory Support. This was not thankful news: Do you own any other Nomad Factory plugin serial #'s? Did you buy Magnetic 2 outright or did you upgrade from Magnetic 1? You can't upgrade to ISP3 from Magnetic 2 but any other Nomad serial will work.

bapu Ya, it was stated right there on the purchase page. Yeh, I had seen that, but then I received a Dno'tCrack email after I had registered MagII and it had this line: 4- Anyone that owns at least ONE Nomad Factory product can UPGRADE to the FULL ISP III for ONLY $99 ! That’s right ONLY $99 ! Isn’t that the hottest Nomad Factory deal we’ve ever offered ? That confused me to think that since I now own "at least ONE Nomad Factory product" that I could qualify. This is no big concern. I have way too many plugins to use already, and I have sights set on other Black Friday sales (Waves) and other December/Christmas expectations (UAD-2 Xmas sale?? Fabfilter sale????). I was just a bit confused (again). Must be that turkey and the football!

Nomad Factory has been around for many years and makes easily the best plugins in the business. I can personally recommend them for anyone that look for real warm analog sound and all plugins are in X64bit too. I really like the new MAGNETIC II too. http://www.nomadfactory.com/ MAGNETIC ONE was know to sound better then UAD and WAVES TAPE Emulations too... MAGNETIC II include 9 REAL TAPE MODELS that give you the authentic sound of the famous vintage tape machines: 1. Otari MX-80 2-inch 24-track 2. Otari MTR-90 2-inch 24-track 3. Ampex MM1200 2-inch 24-track 4. Ampex ATR-102 half-inch two-track 5. Tascam ATR60-16 1-inch 16-track 6. Studer A80 Mk II 2-inch 24-track 7. Studer A827 2-inch 24-track 8. Freddie H MAGNETIC ONE was know to sound better then UAD and WAVES TAPE Emulations too... Some people actually came up with an agreement on that? Everywhere I've looked, I've found that people were usually quite positive about Magnetic but most of those who actually owned the others didn't seem to think it was "better", just different.
