Ina Gada da Vida Iron Butterfly a popular thought is that this is a Latin phrase meaning "In the Garden of Eden" but that's not correct. only "Vida" is a true latin word which means "Life"; the other words are nonsense. also according to urban legend, was the original name of the song until someone (Doug Ingle?) slurred the words into "Ina Gada da Vida" instead during a druken recording sound check.

I thought this was going to be a discussion of Metal lyrics in general. "Eat dirt and bite the nail" - the only difference between that and "Doo wa diddy" is that one contains dictionary words.

The mind is a strange and wonderful thing, but I fear my is more the former because I woke up with this nonsense song in my head this morning: "Bawitdaba da bang a dang diggy diggy diggy said the boogy said up jump the boogy" (Kid Rock) Latter in the day I remembered another song where I always thought the word was "Bruce" until my son looked it up and found that it was a made up word "Groossss" (pronounced like 'goose' with an 'r' in it) with the singer rolling the 'r'. Here if you want to try to guess what it is I'll write the answer below backwards so hopefully maybe you don't see it right away... artsechrO thgiL cirtcelE yb "nwoD eM gnirB t'noD"

Sorry to revive a thread but I mentioned this discussion to my wife during a long drive and she came up with a couple classics: "The Name Game" and "Ma-Na-Ma-Na" (that Muppets song)
