No...really! I've had enough!
Since this holiday weekend began, I feel as though I have been eating nonstop. It's been a relentless binge of grilled Nathans hotdogs, steaks, ribs, steamed clams, potato's baked, fried, boiled, etc. I think someone may have slipped me a vegatable along the way. Sometime later this week something horrific is going to happen that will entail me sitting on the toilet til my legs fall asleep. How about you folks? Anything good to eat. (yes Bill, pies count) Randy

How about you folks? Anything good to eat. Although it's not our memorial weekend it has been a bank holiday here. We've been entertaining my Mother-Out-Law who had her 82 birthday the day before yesterday, so we've been trawling the best restaurants around here and eating like royalty for the last few days. I'm feeling a bit like Mr. Creosote... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXH_12QWWg8

I was playing bass and drumming and singing real hard yesterday evening with one of my heavy metal buddies and almost fell out from the fact that I was running on a light brunch. I quickly made an impromptu stir fry that evolved into Kung Pao tofu as I gathered the ingredients and finally realized I was going to dump a jar of Hoison sauce on top of everything. The highlight was garden fresh yellow squash... it was like candy. The best part... round 2 has already happened and I'm starting a new day. ;-) The wonders of a high fiber vegetarian diet!!! What's for breakfast?

mmmmmm... Nathan's dogs are the best!!! Went to a cookout with friends on Sunday and he got some hamburger from a local butcher shop - the meat was just cut off the bone on Saturday. It's amazing the difference in quality of meat compared to what you get at the store - the burgers were incredible!

As an addendum to this thread, last night just before dusk I was reclining on the bench outside and I noticed a pigeon peering down at me. After about half an hour I thought he was being a bit nosey and investigated further, he didn't seem perturbed by my presence even though I was only inches away. He looked a bit puffed up but not overly uncomfortable and when he fell asleep where he was when night fell I just assumed he'd been overly expressing his springtime enthusiasm to the hen population and had exhausted himself. He eventually flew off this morning leaving a pile behind him that even I would have been proud of, I now reckon he'd been partaking of too much bread being handed out by the bank holiday tourists and bloated himself out and couldn't fly off until he'd unloaded his cargo. He must have seen something in me that he could identify with and decided it was a cool place to spend the night.

Another addendum. Our pigeon, or at least a trimmed down version of him, came back to roost tonight, literally touching distance from my front door. I don't know now if I'm looking after him or he's looking after me. How cool is that? Although he's a wild pigeon (he's not ringed) he lets me feed him from my hand and seems as happy as Larry there today.

(yes Bill, pies count) Randy I'm usually the host/cook at most of the family get togethers and so I have to sample the vittles. Yesterday I threw a turkey in the smoker for the heck of it because it had been in the bottom of my freezer for a long time and I needed to rotate the stock. It went in around 5pm after the coals were whited over and I came out at midnight to extract the delectable wonder it was. Turned out very well. Trimmed the breast meat off and saved some of the dark meat. The rest went to my trusty guard dog who doesn't belong to me but who is loyal to the death( Ive been bribing him). Memorial day was t-bones,home made burgers, tons of different slads,chili..........hun, where's the beano??
