Not Able to Hear Metronome

sort of a stupid question but i can't hear my metronome.  i can hear it on my first recordings when i open them, but if i open a new project my metronome is not working even though i have it turned on...i checked all the settings between the working metronome project and the non-metronome project and they seem to be the same.  is there some little thing i am missing.  i right click to check metronome settings and everything seems fine like it should play...

thanks

check the metronome bus and make sure the out is on master bus and the master to you sound interface.

To add, you should try audio metronome or midi metronome.
