Not Mozart ... definitely!

Hi,

If you EVER want to see an insane film that borders on the truly weird and crazy, you gotta see "Not Mozart".

You have been warned that this will insult many people's conventional reality and that you are not to see this with any kind of prudish significant other because this is nuts and insane and off the wall. But also very funny!

Peter Greenaway's piece is a nude Marat/Sade complete with everything, and the premise is done, visually, the way that only he can do which is actually nice, but the subject matter in front of you, can be rather disconcerting, specially guys ... that might get offended. The one about the skull is hilarious and it is a Frank Zappa, meets Kurt Weill/Bertold Brecht thing full of lively words and such ... and a nice discussion between Beethoven and Haydn!

The rest, I'm not telling ... I couldn't even watch the first two together and had to stop after the 1st one (Greenaway's) because it was so different and crazy, that you have to reorganize your thoughts about film, theater, dance and all that ... it's dancing is similar to the pieces you saw in "Prospero's Books" which is one of the best versions of "The Tempest" that has ever been done, not to mention that you understand every single word that John Gielgud spiels out ... you sit there stunned that ... wow ... the language makes sense, where before you just got on on the rhymes but never paid attention to the words.

Fun, crazy, and one of those films ... that you can never EVER prepare for! Visual insanity and then some, which is something American films can not do!

Ohhh , I think this film is way too adult for the bad jokers in the Coffee House, btw!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

Have you only just seen this film Pedro? It's pretty old now.  Greenaway's part was the best bit as I recall, but I haven't seen it for years. Loved Greenaway's 'The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover', that was mad, and brilliant.

I doubt it ... the Christian something or other group would kill Netflix ... Behind the Green Door might be a safer thing to watch on Netflix!

I love watching his work, even if sometimes ... ohhh goodness!

"Prospero's Books" is magnificent in every way, and probably the truest visualization of all Prospero's words in the play!

"The Pillow Book" is outstanding in my mind ... because the inset is just like that character's mind ... and we ALL have that problem ... saying something and thinking another ... talking to our significant other but our minds are elsewhere ... it never stops, and in that film it is relentless ... and I thought it was great.

"The Cook ... " does not need comments. It is a great film, regardless. Although the ending will make a lot of folks feel uncomfortable, it is one of the best ever! The ladies here might not find it as ... funny!
