Not Showing Audio Waves, Or Recording Audio

Hi
I'm using Maschine, should I be able to record audio into Sonar ? When I try to, it just shows a flat line, anyone any idea were I'm going wrong !!!

    dont know machine, but im assuming its analog as your trying to record an audio track. Are you see the track meters move when you arm the track??

               Yes the meters move, and there is a flat line in the track, don't know how to get this to record.
