Not another intermittent ProChannel comp thread
Just wondering if this phenomenon has been officially acknowledged by Cakewalk and is slated for repair? Because it is most certainly happening right now with the 4K comp on the master buss (and has happened on other channels with the '76 comp in the past, but not right now that I know of). Hopefully the answer is yes and this thread will be moot.

Pro Channel is being rebuilt for release this month. You will have to pay for it in the guise of Xpanded. I just dumped it until it gets sorted out.

I'm still seeing the Pro Channel problems as well with the X1c patch on projects created in X1c. Question, is there ever a scenario where you can have a track frozen but not the Pro Channel? See screenshot below ... I thought this couldn't be done but I have a track that is frozen, but the Pro Channel isn't and I don't know how I got this to happen?

Sorry Bub, don't know the answer to that. One of my concerns with PC is does this intermittent state ever make it through the export process?

Has anyone verified that Expanded will have addressed the on-again-off-again issue in PC?

Not sure what the answer to my question is. From what I can tell, the answer seems to be "maybe."

i'll be in the middle of a mix and suddenly something sounds wrong. toggle the pc on/off on a given bus/track, good to go.

toggling on/off doesn't work for me, i have to close sonar and re-open it. though yesterday, that "fix" only lasted a short time then the master buss comp went back to bed. (double space) does any body know if this problem has ever caused a mixed-down/exported project to have a channel or buss missing it's compression? That would be a very bad situation... (double space) if we have to pay for this repair, that's a MAJOR RAW DEAL.

If I understand correctly I believe Ryan did track down the scenarios in which this could happen - but I would have to do some thread digging. As for X1 Expanded the ProChannel is a different beast now with modularity. There is now a global bypass button for the ProChannel as part of the preset saving scheme so that if it does get turned on or off you'll have a visual indication that it's state has changed.

Hi Willy, thanks for offering some clarification here. I apologize if this has been clarified in another thread, but there have been so many (hence the name of this thread) and I did not have time to read them all. The last time I read a thread on this topic, Cakewalk seemed to be unaware of this although many of us were saying it was happening to us. (double space) The scenario that I'm seeing here happens from time to time, I don't know what causes it, but it seems like the ProChannel compressors (either of them) just decide to turn themselves off and they don't go back on when I click the "power" button on them. This happens sometimes, other times it doesn't, though it's hard to know it's happening sometimes unless I see it or the sound changes drastically, though that's not normally the case. Most of the time the way I find out is I'll go to a channel or buss to make a compression adjustment and see that the comp is off and won't go back on. Like I said in a post above, I have to close Sonar and re-open it, but yesterday, that only work for a couple of minutes then the 4K on the master buss went off again. (double space) One of my other concerns is does this intermittent state ever make it through the export process resulting in a mix that contains tracks or busses with no compression? Thanks again. EDIT: Willy, I saw your reply in the other thread. Thanks
