Is there an avatar pic problem as well? I tried to change my avatar and this seemed easy enough (that is, I could delete my old picture) until I tried to upload my new avatar. Am I just missing something? I tried it in Firefox, Chrome, and Explorer. No luck anywhere.... Thanks in advance for any help.

I was going to say maybe it tipped the ugly scale but mine made it on. Maybe the pics are too good looking to make it on. We can't have to much dazzle around here...or can we?

Yours is not so bad, much nicer than my avatar, that's for sure (that's for DARN sure). It is very frustrating though. When I hit the select button in the "Upload file(s) to the Server" window, I get the directory tree in another window, move to the appropriate folder, click on the picture I want to upload, hit the "open", and... zip. Nada. Zilch. No progress bar. No cute little clock timer. Nothing.

Yup - that's the usual. It's been reported to the forum admins 2 weeks ago. I suppose the issue is trickier than it seems.

Would it help to try from a different computer? Has anyone thought to turn off antivirus s/w? (I did turn off almost everything in Norton before I tried to upload. No luck so far). I note, Rain, that you have no avatar; did you run into the hassle as well?

I did, yes. Our good pal Steve said he was able to upload a new Avatar using a computer running Windows Vista, but not using his Windows 7 machine.

I got it. I went back to an old (really old) XP machine without much in the way of antivirus s/w. Slower than molasses, but worked when I used Explorer for the browser. Weird, right?
