Not piling on the bakers BUT......

Now that I have settled into using X1 as my normal workflow... I am amazed at how many little bugs snuck through the beta testing.

As noted there are some quite big bugs that are near show stoppers for a lot of folks.. lucky for me I am not having to deal with any like that but.....

Everyday, as I work on projects... at least another small bug rears it's ugly head... actually too many to list but I am amazed that I keep finding new ones now after how many months of using this product?

I hope that a ton of these get addessed in X1b so at best, my list of bugs will go away, at least, I can start listing them.

Some of these bugs are just amazing to me. Didn't anybody put X1 through it's paces before releasing this?

I know I will like X1 better than 8.5 (kinda, sorta already do) when most of these bugs become old news.

The good news is that they are hard at work fixing as many bugs as they can for the X1b release later this month. Here's a partial list of bugs fixed already:

I agree that some bugs seem so overt and game-stopping that I can't possibly see how they got through beta. For me, X1 is in "danger zone play testing only" quarantine until the next update comes out for sure, which is a little unusual for them.

And I'm also sure that it must be a strange time to be at Cakewalk, with great ideas but some clunky rollout strategies since OCT. I bet there's a great after-work rant-a-thon from the people in the trenches that must be network-pilot worthy.

that said, we're in the boat, the boat is in the water, and they'e sending paddles. Tipping it over while we wait isn't going to get us anywhere. I can't imagine that the hint hasn't been given with the forum activity since release, easily the most confrontational place I've visited daily since Prodigy Online days. Sooooooo, I hope the paddles are really good.

It's a familiar refrain by this point - X1 was released far before its time, and is probably one of the most under-developed pieces of software ever released.  As users, we'll never really know what all the reasons are for this debacle, but it remains a very bizarre moment in Cakewalk's history.  OOoooh if they'd only just fixed the bugs in 8.5 and left it at that.  Instead they somehow got a wild idea to completely re-do the program - and the rest of the story is wreckage - hopefully soon to be fixed.

Beta Test? Read the forum history on X1 ...you may just come to the same conclusion I did..."WE" were the beta testers...and WE PAID FOR IT!!!!!    Isn't that ironic???

Look on the brightside, we may have paid for a beta test but we get X1b for FREE!
