Notation view --> Tablature --> Entering notes via fretboard

Hi everyone,

I've been mainly using Guitar Pro lately for composing. I'm back to Sonar for recording, however...
I'd like to make Sonar my main all-in-one tool for composing.
What I want to do is enter notes using the virtual fretboard (which Sonar can) BUT...
I can't find a way to advance the play cursor to the next beat except by moving the play cursor with the mouse.
It is imprecise and long.
Is there a way to press a key, left and right arrow to simply move the play cursor to the next beat?
I still haven't found out how!
If it were only possible, I could compose and enter notes through the virtual fretboard, as in Guitar Pro.

Thank you for your help.

Step Recording is what you are looking for. "Shift+R" will open the step record dialog. Pick the step size then select notes on the fret view. Hit "Enter" to move to the next step. Note that the previous notes will still show on the fret view until you select a new note. Refer to the help file for more detailed explanation.
