Notes disappearing in Track Pain
I have some notes disappearing in the Track Pain. They still show in Piano Roll and they still play, but something is obscuring them in the Track Pain.
I am not sure how much of this is relevant, but what I did was move some notes from one track to another track that I created for them, because I wanted to replace them and see what came out.My aim was to mute the notes in the track that "accepted" the pasted older stuff and listen to the new stuff. But then I started entering notes into the first track and saw that they were not showing in the Track. I moved forward in time and placed another note, and it did appear. But others disappeared.
Now on the first track there is a red line and a blue line at the top of the track and also a little icon that has 4 little unevenly placed squares. It has something to do with clips, because
if I drag clips edges I can make notes appear, but then I start getting duplicates of notes
actually playing.
So I am sorry if it is a bit sloppy b ut I have no idea what is happening and would really
appreciate some help

They are probably in a different take lane, going by what you've done Just select the entire track and do a "Bounce to Clip", this should make all notes visible in a single clip

Also you can click on the take lane icon in track controls to see how many take lanes you may have created while editing the main lane.

Christ! OK. I am not nay-saying your input. It just blows my mind. Take lanes????
"Just select the entire track and do a "Bounce to Clip", this should make all notes visible in a single clip" Funny bounce was what what felt good, but by that time I was SAS and did not want to do anything

OldNick little icon that has 4 little unevenly placed squares.
Maybe I should have said comp tracks, if you see that same little icon in the bottom left of your track controls, it will open up comp tracks below main track, edits you made to original midi track lane (add, cut, paste, move, etc..) usually show up in separate comp (take) lanes below main track, as they may be partially hidden underneath, or vice versa, main track. You can see your edits in comp lanes, relative to main/top track, before committing to bouncing them, once you highlight/select main track and bounce to clip, it commits the edits in comp lanes to the main/top/one track. (you could still undo it if you haven't saved project). Not sure this helps or is more confusing LOL Cheers

Thanks for the reply. When you say all notes will be in a single clip, do you mean that will include all the "extra" ones as well? As I say at one stage I was hearing two lots of the same notes playing.

Dozen madder. I gave it a try and it worked for me. Talking of madder, is this all to do with non-destructive MIDI editing? If so I will give serious thought to switching that off, after what just happened.
