Nothing says, "you are out of cpu," quite like the crash I just had

I have never, ever, ever..  seen windows just, "shut down, and reboot." All this after about ten popups of, "the plugin x crashed, the plugin n crashed, the plugin y crashed."  It listed all the plugs in my project..   They all crashed 1 at a time..  and windows just, "shut down, and rebooted."

OMG

too many lasers...

    Scary!

Are you able to get an error report?. That should give some indication of what caused the crash and reboot.

Has this happened before and is it still happening?

    Are you receiving warning beeps?

What SONAR version are you using?

    What color is your toothbrush?

Have you checked your plugins and drivers are up-to-date and checked the system info for errors?

The best course of action is to eliminate all possible causes by going through it all one by one step by step.

First off, if no indication of nasty viruses, software and driver issues then I suppose it could be a faulty hardware such as; fans, ram, graphics, PSU.

Sometimes a simple unplug then replug of ram and graphics can resolve the issue due to what I think is caused by minor static charge. Had that happen to me once. But I didn't experience a crash and reboot, so i
'm guessing it could be graphics.

I've got to go, hope you figure it out soon. Maybe someone else will chime in. Take care!

I can relate. But it really gets scary when you delete all your dump files and then go to dump them out of the bin and get this:

Something that big has an underlying cause.

You are probably not out of CPU since it didn't tell you that.

More than likely it was some other thing that caused it. Exactly what? IDK.

Check the drivers and update as needed. Also run some scans.  AV is a good place to start and then follow with a registry scan. And a nice disk defrag wouldn't be a bad idea.  All the basics just to be sure.

It's amazing the number of things that can get into and can go wrong in a system that will cause such issues.

    Good luck.
