Novation Impulse / Automap?

Is the Novation Impulse Midi compatible with Sonar x1? Considering getting it for use with reason, but just wondered if you can apply the fader on the midi to work with the faders in sonar, i saw on youtube, it could be done like that on abelton, so i just wondered. seeing as i use sonar etc.

novation are very pally with ableton for a start.. so that comes into it..
as for reason, that's got easily the best way to just insert a new bit of hardware, BUT remember you are using an automap rewire client.

since you use reason.. then you sorta have to use automap.. messing around changing stuff to work with sonar isn't so great tbh.. and novation should more info regarding other DAW's

I have 3 automap'd products and tbh I won't be buying any more, as I'm far from impressed with the build quality of my sl mk2 considering the price they charged for it

    Wish I could help.

I've had my Novation Remote 37 SL & Sonar for years now, but each & every time I give Automap a try, I find my self thinking that I'd have better luck asking the taxman for all my taxes back that I've paid over the years - that or which near-by bridge would be high enough to jump off of!

I have a Novation Nocturn, and like Fog, I will never buy anything Novation again.

The build quality is, for want of a better way to put it, expansive crap !,

    I'm totally done with it.

I've replaced the pitch wheel twice, the mod wheel once, the 3 of the 8 rotaries are extremely flakey, and the support from the local dealer is so poor - three months to get a simple replacement part.

And the velocity response from the keyboard is rather ... inconsistent, let alone the response from the pads which is far worse.

I would advise trying some controllers at your local dealer, and really, really try them out.

Try a few different brands, and look carefully at how sturdy it is.

I look at my novation as a $700 (yes, that's how much in NZ) plastic toy ... a big mistake.

    Cheers - Cliff

Not sure what your location is, but Cliff's advice is good.

Where I live, both main music store competitors give 30 days to try stuff out.

One offers a full refund, the other, the 1st 7 days, then an exchange or credit up until 30 days.
