[Now Available!] Sonar X3 Demo Project ?
Hey Guys Has anyone found the demo project for X3 ? Usually on a Sonar release there is a demo project the last one being " where did we go "I cant seem to find one this time around though. I found the Sonar Audio Demo ( Just the same audio demo from X2 from what I hear ) When I load it I get a missing Plugins Cakewalk Analyst ( Bus Master ) I did install all the plugins though and this is a fresh Sonar install on a new computer build. Any info would be great :)

Is this for Producer? If so, it should be disc 4.

Hi Andrew.
Yes Producer but I have the downloads. Shouldn't I just run part 1 and it installs all 4 parts ?
Any idea on the missing plug ?
Thanks for help

No, you need to install the last part to get the demo content.

What is the name of the demo project? I installed from the download. I tried to re-run part4 but it says it has to be run from the earlier parts.

I have that file too but it is an older one. Was in X2 as well. mudgel Its not in the last of the 4 downloads that make up Sonar but in the last of the downloads, there are about 10 in total
Sorry to be so slow but which one? Other than the 4 part download of Sonar X3, the readmefirst, installation instructions and XLN Addictive Drums, the other 5 are loops and shots and Dim Pro. Others, including Cakewalk have said there was nothing new there. Am I missing a download? Or is there nothing new as far as demo projects for X3? Perhaps I am asking the wrong question.

Nice! Heads up on a few things: - I get warnings about some missing .flac files, which are likely related to the two Dim Pro instances. Some of them are present on my system (e.g. china 03.flac and china 05.flac), but one is not (sine.flac). Will need to investigate a little more to figure out exactly what that's about, and whether it matters. - Initially you're listening to a soloed bounce on the last track routed to Main Outs. You'll want to unsolo and mute that to hear the live tracks. - There's a superfluous MIDI drum clip out around Measure 88 that caused Addictive to render all tracks out to that point. You can select everything after the end of the master bounce clip at 77:03:240, and whack it. EDIT: I verified track 28 using Dim Pro with "Alone in the Beach" patch, is silent on my system in this demo project, but is present in the master bounce. This patch loads up and plays fine in a test project, and does not complain that sine.flac (used in Element 1) is missing, so apparently I've got some path issues to work out on my system. I'll be curious to hear whether anyone else is encountering this.

Thanks for all of the details. I actually just heard the demo for the first time myself today. I like it. FWIW, the Dimension Pro missing multisample errors you're getting didn't come up for me. My system is actually freshly formatted (Windows 8 x64 via Bootcamp, only thing I've installed so far is SONAR X3 Producer, Rapture, Dimension Pro, and XLN Audio Addictive Drums). Perhaps you're running into it from an expansion pack? Occasionally some of the guys who make third-party content will overwrite our default content with their installer. We've been much better about this lately but with so many expansion packs out in the field I'm sure not all scenarios have been tested. We have some ideas for making this much smoother with future instruments though.

From a benchmarking point of view, on my 8GB, i7 2600K, I get about a 1 second delay from start or pause until Sonar reacts. When I look at the cpu meter, cpu1 is the highest and peaks out about half way and the other 7 (4 cpus, 2 threads per) are level at about 30%. Is this what you would expect for such a system or is it too hard to know? BTW the project loaded and played fine for the most part. A couple of times it stopped after I started but I did not click anything. It doesn't repeat this behavior though. Thanks

from a technical perspective... (note i was running my laptop at 20% power with onboard audio using steinberg's generic asio driver, and running the project from my system drive) i loaded the project, and as always mute the bounced track and unsolo it. then, unfreeze addictive drums and any other soft synths. hit play... drop out on bar 2 "start" - solution: open preferences/audio/synch and caching and set i/o buffer sizes to 512) rewind... hit play... no dropout. something's odd though, so open midi track for ad. missing notes. stop, open preferences/midi/playback and recording and set prepare using... to 500ms rewind and play... no issues, except for OH in ad clips. cpu utilization at average of 28% and disk load running at about 13%. bounce track down to new audio file... using main outputs and all options checked. set new tracks output to main audio outs, like the previously bounced track and invert the phase. solo both bounced audio tracks, and play back. there are some phase differences, rebounce project to new track with 64bit engine disabled. still getting phase issues and audio showing up. not sure how the bounce was done to track 44. try number three select bounce master bus with no dithering no 64 bit engine to new track. repeat phase test. i cannot reproduce the in-project bounce. it would be nice to know the settings that were used to be able to recreate it. one really odd thing is that the waveform i see in track 44 is empty (silent) until bar 17:04 even though there is audio. no problems with dimension... usually when samples can't be found that's an indication that default folders were moved and registry keys were edited to facilitate the move. otoh, i like how the lp-64 eq and multiband were included as an example. and, i'm surprised by the lack of automation in the project as most demo projects are pretty automation heavy.
