Now time "stutter" on a simple synth track (X1d)?

Hi all. This is my first post, so I hope this is to the right place. I have Producer Expanded (x64) and been using through X1c without issues. I have many old files with midi content, so been struggling with changing settings back and forth from MME32 to listen to old work. After understanding synths better, I have been copying midi data from old files into new files with synth tracks. After the X1d install, I made a new file, created a simple Session Drummer track and copied the midi data from another (old) file into it. On playback, I see a noticeable "stutter" in the now time (but cannot hear it). I am worried that if I do 15 tracks this way that the stutter may become audible. Have others seen this (playing the track in WMD/KS)? I have rebooted, closed and reopened SONAR but still see this. I also changed settings (from WDM to MME32) to listen to the original midi file again and the now time moved smooth as silk, so I can only see it with a synth track playing (thus far). I have opened other files with the synth data created in the new track and the now time does not seem to stutter. So the follow on question - is copying midi data from old files to synth tracks not the preferred method? All the best! Win 7 (64), i7-2600K (4.6GHz), GeForce GTX580

My first guess with things like this is your sound card settings.
Why are in using MME? Use ASIO or WDM, depending on what your audio interface works best at, and then tweak the ASIO buffers or WDM slider until it goes away.

If your using the onboard sound card, then your using a non recommended sound card and hence your troubles.

I noticed that on one project. It turned out to be because X1 was creating the waveforms. Once that completed the project ran smoothly.
