Nudge not working from menus

I've always used Nudge from the menus. I have a project I've been working on for a while. And now Nudge does not respond while moving midi(audio clips work correctly)from the menus. Yet it works from the number pad shortcuts. And changes I make to the Nudge values in Preference are reflected in the amount of movement when using the number pad shortcuts. If I create a new project, Nudge works correctly from the menus. Is there some other setting relative to midi Nudge that I could have changed in error? Thanks.
