Number of tracks in score view

Is there any way to show more than 16 tracks at once in score view?

Thanks,
Bill

There is a + / - button on top right corner of the staff view, reducing it may fit more staffs.

Beyond that, you can set the monitor orientation from landscape to portrait. You just need to find some sort of monitor holder that enables you to physically turn your monitor.

Yes, I knew about the +/- button... but if I pick more than 16 tracks to show, only the first 16 ever show up. Looks like that's just a built-in limitation?

I did a test before I responded.. just to make sure, I did another test.. added 16 midi tracks (empty) to my existing 5 tracks, pick them all, and all shows up - 21 of them.

Ah - now I see what the limit is. If you have a staff whose layout is treble and bass clef, that counts as two. If you've got 24 staves and then change a treble-only to treble + bass, you get a message about exceeding the maximum number of staves.

That's a silly limitation. There's probably a const int max_staves = 24; somewhere in the code. Seems like it would take about 5 seconds to fix.

Great find, I've never used more than a dozen tracks with staff view.

It has other limits as well (triplet can't tie with other notes.. one of which I can think of). You may want to open up a feature request on this one.
