OCD Question about Nectar Elements

Being OCD - and the following is bugging me.
Aside from being eye candy or an annoying distraction - what does that indicated level meter actually measure?

 

 
Is it the ideal breast curvature of the background singer needed to harmonize with this vocal track?
With the darker tones indicating what to look for if you need male harmonies?

    It's not in the full version, at least not in any of the screen shots that I saw.
