OK, so, prochannel "fiddly" ness with EQ........
Is it me having issues with dragging up, down, over, etc with the graphical display in the EQ on prochannel? It's like the mouse and the GUI just don't like each other.......

DAMN! I wonder what I could be doing wrong? Must be me. To elaborate, if I go to grab an eq node (lets just say green :D ), it FIGHTS me. And it has a tendency to be fiddly, like if I'm not perfect, it will turn off! Must be me, I wonder what I could be doing wrong.........

There is definitely something up there, because I cannot replicate those kind of shenanigans if I try. Maybe a graphics card issue or a mouse issue (are you running low on batteries? )

I'm not sure if this is what you're seeing, but, what happens if you lower the EQ plot resolution?

The one thing I do not like about the quad EQ is the absolute lack of an optional large display for it. In Sonar 8.5 and earlier the built in EQ used the Sonitus EQ which could be opened with a double click on the EQ plot. This should be made a priority in a future patch. Perhaps a button could be added that would bring up a simple graphic display that the user could re-size as the user wished.

I must admit that I've given up clicking on the nodes and rely totally on dialling the numbers in via the knobs and buttons.

@steve, I don't know how to change the plot resolution, looking into that. (this is the pro channel, not sure if it's like the sonitus) A CLUE! This behavior I'm getting is a problem with HPF or LPF engaged. Turn those off, and it works better. @synk: Sure, that is a viable option but grabbing the nodes should work too :)

Chris, you should be able to change the resolution by right-clicking any EQ graph in the Console view and choose a resolution from the pop-up menu. I'm not sure if you can do that from the Track Inspector, but if not click the Display button at the bottom and that should open a pop-up menu where you can get to the same settings (a level or two in I think).

Using the console view and eq resolution set on AUTO I can move the nodes around easily from North to South and East to West. Works great. However - in track view. Only East to West works smoothly. North to South is like you described - fiddly.

I can confirm this. As soon as HPF or/and LPF is engaged, moving the nodes is like trying to stir dried concrete. Even to make very small adjustments, I would need to drag the mouse over half of my desk. I just tried all the different EQ resolutions...no difference . To me this is a not fully functional feature of X2. And yes John, #1 to an optional large display! This has been requested here for so many times, and would make eqing-life in PC so much easier

Hmmm I see what you mean about moving nodes with HPF or LPF engaged. It's not as bad as you say it is on my end, re: dragging the mouse over half your desk, but it does feel like the whole EQ unit is under water or something. This needs fixing pronto.

Ok, I'm sorry I can't address everyone individually, quote just DOESN'T WORK here :grrrrr: I grid res now in the console view. However as mentioned, that is not the area I'm having the issue with, it's in the inspector (I've really grown fond of the inspector!) Anyways, nice that it's not just me, because then there is an outside chance that cake will look into it. BTW, why wouldn't there be a resolution option on the inspector/prochannel?? Odd.

To make the Pro Ch. "Quad EQ" way easier to see,and adjust,I just use the Windows "Magnifier",and adjust it's magnification, and size to suit, then "right click" it to make it appear on the "Taskbar",so I can very quickly click on it,use it,click it off, works great when you can see stuff much bigger, and by having the "maginifier" on the taskbar,it's too easy, give it a try. Bob PS, Also all my "stuff" works perfectly, since the quick fix,and on my dell laptop, that has NEVER happened until now.

chrisharbin @synk: Sure, that is a viable option but grabbing the nodes should work too :) Yep, I'm with you there Chris. As an aside, I also struggle with the Sonitus EQ when it comes to dragging the nodes around. And on top of that, I think I'd rather have a 30 band graphic EQ than a parametric one, I sometimes can't get my head around how the curves are produced, whereas with a graphic EQ I know exactly what frequencies I want to boost and cut and I find it much quicker.

Still curious whether anyone's tried a 6dB plot in the TI. That seems to work well for me. In fact, if I bump it back up to 12dB it still seems "snappier" in the Y axis.
