OLD TIMER NEEDS HELP

10 years ago I was using Cakewalk Pro for windows 3.01 when unfortunately I moved away from the midi world. Now I'm wanting to get back into it and I don't where the industry went. Can anybody steer me in the right direction to a current software based sequencer which will read my old 3.01 .wrk files. I have hundreds used in live performances but they are stored on my old win95 laptop with a broken screen. Getting the files onto my new state of the art usb/firewire laptop is not a problem but I'm not sure if the old software will work with XP. Besides, they don't put parallel connectors on the new computers and that's what my midi interface connected with.

Hopefully there is something out there which is similar to the old format. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
