OMF files

I exported a project out of X2a as an OMF file. When I tried to open it in Pro Tools 10, I got a message box saying Cannot import OMF 1x files. Pro Tools can only import OMF 2x files. Can anybody shed any genuine light on this please?

    Hey Peter,

When you export OMF from SONAR, you have a choice of OMF1 (the old format) and OMF2 (the current format). Choose OMF2 during the export. There's an option for it in the OMF Export dialog.

IIRC, The Pro tools program may need a $500 adapter to open OMF files. Does the owner of the pro tools have "said" adapter?

I exported it as an OMF 2x and I imported it perfectly into Pro Tools. Then I added various effects and envelopes, saved it as  Pro Tools files, onto memory stick and gave it my colleague, before he returned to Canada from UK.  He has a Pro Tools studio there and some great musicians on hand. No $500 gizmo or adapter needed.
