OMG Greg's leaving!?!? Who is Greg?
Sorry, I felt left out. Thanks Greg, whoever you may be! I would say thanks to Tom, but he didn't do that much... [Title edited]

Some say he deserves a whole forum where it's all about him. They feel he must have it for some reason.

bub my boy, without x1 what would you have to complain about? :) think of the joy its brought us,good and bad. if not for x1 i may never have joined this forum, there for never met you. there is one thing for sure,x1 is the most cotreversial of all of sonars releases. some people absolutely loved it,others hated it. its given us alot to talk about and you know what. youve stuck around here for a reason,it was because of x1. sure the forum is good company but you or i could have gone to any forum. but we choose this one because we like cakewalk. now maybe im speaking for myself i dont know. but i think in there somewhere you like what cakewalk served up in x1. just not the baggage that went along with it.

(slowly claps hands) "thats deep man". far out man. I try. On a side note as I have said quite a few times. I love the things they tried to do but it doesn't work as advertised for certain things that I need for my production so I don't use it as much as I used to. I have recently bought Live and I love Live and it works exactly how it is supposed to and it even doesn't drop audio when I load plugins unlike Sonar. Its not as fun or elegant to mix in as Sonar is though. No tool is perfect though.

i cant think of any major studio that i have worked in or read about that is using ableton live. Well, that's because its not really a studio recording product. I tried the demo version and its primarily a non-linear composition tool. I didn't buy it because I really haven't done much with Sonar's Matrix view, but I thought Ableton's product was more intuitive. However, I plan on trying to work with the Matrix view and see if I can get the hang of it. Ableton did have a really nice tutorial for configuring your sound equipment which I think Sonar needs because a lot of people get frustrated just trying to get sound as we see on this forum a lot. Perhaps that's an area the new CEO might want to invest in.

Although, I have stuck around here 50% for the people and 50% because I do support Cakewalk. Most people don't read through a post far enough to pick up on that though and they form erroneous opinions. They look at my posts, and other posts, and say, "Man, that guy is ****in' again?". What they NEVER take in to consideration, Moderators included, is that the guy '****in', has in a lot of cases spent dozens of hours testing and troubleshooting only to be met with stfu, or, screw you guys, I'm not helping you anymore ... What ya gonna do? :)

daveny5 i cant think of any major studio that i have worked in or read about that is using ableton live. Well, that's because its not really a studio recording product **FOR ME** . I tried the demo version and its primarily a non-linear composition tool. I didn't buy it because I really haven't done much with Sonar's Matrix view, but I thought Ableton's product was more intuitive. However, I plan on trying to work with the Matrix view and see if I can get the hang of it. fixed that for ya ;-) matrix does have similarities , but its not quite there yet.. same with other things.. close, but not the same. it is for studio recording, seriously.. or at least very handy to do time stretching/remix work.. it's just a different way of working. If I had the perfect DAW I'd only use 1.. but I use sonar/cubase/reason and ableton is due here very soon. each have their strong / weak points. I work differently in all 4, so that aspect I like as well. if you track.... then maybe it's less for you BUT still it's just handy to get idea's down.. then join em / worry about the tempo after.. thats where the strength of it lays. I think if you spent a day with someone who knew how to use it properly you might change your mind.
