OMG Mouse Wheel is whooping my butt.
While working with multiple monitors/sceen sets. I will "spin or bump the wheel" changing something/somewhere not knowing it constantly messing with my mixes-ughhhh. As little as this is-it sucks to find it after mixdowns. Anyone familiar with how to disable this or is it just a matter of getting a mouse WITHOUT the wheel. LOL Thanks

Thanks Beagle. Checked it and looks like Dells got me again. Microsoft options are there but Dell does not allow changes to settings on their mouse which is what was supplied with this puter. Ill just try and be careful until I do my updating later this year hopefully. Thanks again ;)

No computer manufacturer should ever dictate what settings I am not allowed to change on my computer. I would be angry with Dell if I were you.

If you uninstalled the mouse and rebooted would the MS drivers not install? Just a thought

LOL Thanks Hi, Digi - This is a surprising problem to me - I've never experienced my wheel accidentally changing something. It's changing fader settings, and then somehow you don't know until after a mix down--? How is this happening, when a wheel doesn't control anything until something is given focus? I'm working with two screens also, by the way - so I have some idea of how you're working. I'm wondering if it's because I've used WizMouse for so long? If you don't know about it, it's a free utility which makes a mouse so much more logical. It made working in Sonar much easier, cutting down the number of clicks as I work - You should check it out so you can see for yourself what all it does. Randy B.

My Prob comes in when Im doing something on one monitor, jump to a different monitor to work and forget the last place I actually used the mouse. If I then accidentally scroll/rotate the wheel, the last place I was will be affected and for me-my memory is an issue (LOL). I will have to check on the MS drivers or ??? but I am kinda being patient with anymore changes until X1b comes out and hopefully get NEW clean disks to load off of, then I will go back in to try and nip this one. More of an operator issue than anything but then DELL, well enuff on that LOL. Thanks a BUNCH everyone. ;) Greatly appreciated and I will check on the other drivers.

digi2ns My Prob comes in when Im doing something on one monitor, jump to a different monitor to work and forget the last place I actually used the mouse... Hi, Digi - Thanks for the reply. Guess what? You need WizMouse. Now that I understand exactly what's happening with you, I can guarantee this will fix your problem - and the bonus is that it makes working with any program easier. What you're saying is you jump to a different monitor, forgetting that something on the other screen still has your mouse's focus. You gotta believe me, this is precisely what WizMouse avoids, because you don't click to give something the focus - you just hover. In other words, using your scenario: You're working with something on one screen. You go to the other to work with something there. With WizMouse, whatever your cursor is currently over is what the mouse and its wheel will control. Automatic focus. See? It's not a driver issue you're having - you're experiencing the limitation of the traditional mouse and wheel. This WizMouse really is the greatest, most useful free app I've ever added to my computer. It's totally invisible - I forget it's there, I take for granted the freedom of just moving around, operating anything on the screen I want. Go now and get it: WIZ MOUSE - the Mighty Mouse of computer mouse apps Randy B.
