Not to derail the thread but (X-1 newbie here)...  Can I upgrade from default X-Gear, say Amplitude 2, without spending an arm and a leg?  I have used the original version of amplitude since it came with Sonar 6.  Thanks in advance.

Looks like they've released a limited free version as a gateway, integrated with micro-purchases of individual units (amps, stomps, etc) in the form of the Custom Shop - looks like deanx mentioned this above. Can you say SMART MARKETING? really clever. I mean, not like they've invented the wheel or anything - freebie gateway marketing is all over the place - but the combination with micropurchases without diluting their front line products is a very nice bit of business-model innovation. Kudos! I might even try it out (I'm not really a guitarist, so NI Guitar Rig is waaaayy more than I need or deserve already - but hey, you can get some great sounds running other things through these things too, so the more (tone) the merrier I say!
