[OT] Blast from the Past for Craig...

This weekend I am cleaning out two large bookcases and sorting through books, and as I am sorting I happened upon "Guitar Gadgets" and "Electronic Projects for Musicians." Nothing really clicked at that point but I leafed through them, and they both contain the plastic record insert of old (and I have never owned a record player). The "Electronic Projects for Musicians" simply had the title on the record, but the "Guitar Gadgets" had the author too... I took a pic of (both books by the same author). I just had to share the pic for folks:

I bought these both c. 1989, and did quite a few cools things with both, but I never even caught the name till I saw that "record" (BTW, can these be had in mp3??  (kidding))

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Love it!  Especially the "Place coin here" to prevent it from slipping!
You should find someone with a record player and get an MP3 made! (To share, of course!)

No, but I wouldn't have a problem with making the audio available (aside from personal embarrassment, of course). If the book had been written today, the flexidisc would probably be an online file anyway. There were also flexi-discs for Electronic Projects for Musicians and Home Recording for Musicians. In fact, one of the melody lines from HRFM was pretty catchy...people still come up to me from time to time and sing "Doubling a vocal line will make a voice seem stronger."

When I saw the title, I thought it was going to relate to Mandrake Memorial...there's been some weird kind of revival in interest about the band.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!
