I've actually been having the same trouble. I'll see what I can find out. Brandon, Every now and then, the forum software seems to log users out on its own, and it happens about 2 or 3 times a year (I've been here for a number of years and attest to this) ;) But once a user logs in and tells the system to save the cookie, all remains well until the next episode.

That happened to me last year, and clearing my cache, then logging in with the save cookie option solved it.

Microsoft...runs its monthly security updates. It fixes things and then sometimes breaks things. Cycle through the caching and whatever else to catch up, or wait until next month. But as you can tell I am just guessing on a hunch...

Actually it's not happening to me in the way I thought it was. I had noticed that after I rebooted my machine I had to log back in (which was unusual), but I've been logged in all day without any problems. Anyway, I'll check with the webmaster and see if anything is awry.

Back a few days ago I had the forum page not showing up here..I kept getting google oops page first..then I got a couple of times out pages then it came back on...minus my username... Then when I sent for a password reset the email would not kick in..that was when I reregistered under Trimph2 Next day I came on..and found 2 emails from CW about password resets..so I went back to my Trimph1 username.... And all through that time I allowed for the cookie.... All in all a very weird day was had by me...

I've actually begun turning OFF email notifications on most threads (knowing how they eventually go, lol).

Something has definitely changed. Well I've emptied my cache several times I've cold booted I still get logged out several times a day. Every time I log-in again I save a cookie but I can be typing a reply even and when i press Post Message it logs me out or I can refresh the forum index and it logs me out etc etc - it makes the forum almost unusable

yup, my profile is set to always sub to threads i post in, as it always has been... the other issue is post-post: sometimes i see the "go to post", "go to forum" options screen, but mostly i'm just taken straight to the post i just posted... e.g., today, i've posted a couple of times, but only once offered the choice; also, i've never been sent straight back to the forum index, only ever straight back to the post... when the web folks say "nothing's changed" do they have a different meang of "nothing"? because something has...

pwal when the web folks say "nothing's changed" do they have a different meang of "nothing"? because something has... I'm just saying what they told me. No software or changes have been made to the forum server whatsoever is what they tell me. These are pretty technical people FWIW. They did say that MS has deployed patches in the last few days which could effect people's systems, but that the forum software and those particular servers were untouched. I have no way to verify any of this (I live in LA and wouldn't know what i was doing anyway ). And the fact that everything is working on my end (and for rest of staff) and I have no way to report any reproducible problem or one that I am experiencing first-hand makes it difficult to push the "issue". Wish there was more I could do, but I'm not sure what it would be at this point. I'll keep an eye out for any info that can help on either end.
