That's really cool Scott!! I haven't seen my dad in over 20 years. He's just on the other end of town, but I think he wants to see me about as much as I want to see him. Hopefully your meeting with your son will be the beginning of a new chapter.


Why don't you see your dad if you live that close?


Long story, but basically we never liked each other in the first place, so there is no desire to rekindle something that was bad. My sister has reconnected with him in the last couple of years. I asked her if he had changed and she said "no, he's still the same @$$hole he always was". That actually gave me a lot of peace of mind to hear that, because I used to feel guilty about not reaching out to try to give him another chance.
