OT: ICEMAT

So you guys probably use an optical mouse. Yea, me too.
But what do you use under it?

If you haven't heard of ICEMAT, you seriously need to do some googling. It's a glass mouse pad. Smooth as a baby's bottom. In fact, it's the only mouse pad that's second to actually using a baby's bottom as a mouse pad.
It's probably not new, and I'm probably late on this... but I just bought one and it has enhanced my mousing ability ten fold.
My clicks are accurate, and my palm looks unbelievably cool on top this thing.

If you're a clicker in Sonar, you may want to check into this thing. Especially if you don't have a baby at your disposal.
I can't say enough about this mouse pad.
Except that if it gets some grit or dirt on it, you will feel the hell out of it.
Paper towel to the rescue.

Icemat Mouse Pad

How much do they cost? Didn't see a price on the site.

Come on! When was the last time you actually used a baby's behind as a mouse pad? And how did you get the little guy to hold still?

    LOL @ Mark!

I searched Nextag and found them for $22-$25 each. that's kind of expensive for a mouse pad. of course if it works really that much better than a cloth/rubber pad then it would be worth it i guess.

    Am I missing something?

I thought mouse mats were used with a mouse with a ball.

My optical mouse works perfectly on my desktop - or does it?

    I am confused.....

mine doesn't. in fact the mice at work on a white platic type desk REALLY doesn't work well there. nothing bugs me more than to move the mouse and the pointer doesn't move where I think I'm moving it to! if these mouse pads will eliminate that, then I'd spend it.

He he - shows my sheltered lifestyle Reece!

Maybe optical mice were designed to work specifically on my finest Chippendale desk then

    I wish!
