OT: Internet Browser & Email Apps

Sorry for the OT, I'm considering dropping Internet Exploer for Mozilla Firefox. Is this a good idea? Are there other options I should consider? I tried checking out Windows Updates with Firefox...and it wouldn't let me go there. For email applications, what options should I consider? Are there any good apps that work for newsgroup mail also?

Thanks,
Nathan

    Oh not SONAR!!!

Anyway I like Firefox than IE because of several reasons.
    1. High Security, no pop ups
    2. Reliable than IE
    3. In my University I'm able to go to restricted sites using firefox!!! (No no not porn, sometimes they don't even let me to visit SONAR forum)

Well, yes, I guess this post is just a tad OT ... but for emailing your messages to Sonar support, try Thunderbird.

And like Dimuthu_DeeJay, I'm not experiencing any site restrictions with Firefox. And, speaking of Firefox ...

Also Opera is another good browser than IE. I don't know whether its available as a free download.

It is, if you don't mind having the banner ads displayed ... otherwise you can pay to have them taken out. But I've found that Opera does some strange thinds with some sites, for example, hown it intreprets borders and margins in style sheets, and some javascript menus.
