OT: Mackie 1220 with Onyx firewire card..a good unit, or.....??

Just wanted to ask those who have used one, what the Mackie 1220 is like as a mixer?

And secondly how it goes with the Onyx Firewire expansion card option?

Thanks

I love mine. The drivers have been fine for me and I love the way it integrates with everything in my studio. As a mixer it's, well, a Mackie! The Onyx pres are really nice and it's pretty flexible routing-wise. I would recommend the 1220i for sure! Just make sure you use a firewire card with Texas Instruments chipset.

We'll not risk another frontal assault-that rabbit's dynamite!!!

The early series without the (i) in the model name had rather limited routing in the digital realm. The follow up range eg. 1220i had much more comprehensive routing in the digital domain.
I had a 1640 which I sold to get a Presonus Studio live 2442. The routing, features and flexibility leave the Mackie for dead. IMHO.

Thanks guys - this is the standard 1220 with the Onyx expansion card...not the "i" model.
