OT - Oberheim OBx fans

If any of you have been wanting an Oberheim in soft synth form, you might want to checkout the following:
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/obx

If you're into 80s classic synth sounds, this thing is pretty cool.
It's amazing how many tracks used the OBx/a...

Thanks for the heads up on this, Jim. I've dreamed of a software version of an OB something and this looks (and sounds) really good.

    Hey Nick,

IMO, The Oberheim sound pretty much defined what a polyphonic synthesiser was.
Maybe I'm stuck in the 80s synth sound wise, but I'll take the Oberheim any day over today's 'white noise' extravaganza. <g>

Was it just me, or did that website maximise everyone's browser window. Very rude behaviour for a website.

No, it's doing that to everybody. I'll drop him a note.

Totally agree. I owned a Prophet, but always regretted not buying an OBX-A. It has a sound like no other. "Buttery" is a good adjective. Let's face it, no soft-synth will ever re-create the sound of true analog, but I welcome all comers who want to tackle the duplication of the mighty OB synths. G-Media slipped at last year's Winter NAMM and revealed a screenshot of what looked like an OB-X clone. Haven't heard anything more about it, but hopefully they'll have a working model at this year's Winter NAMM.
