I'll almost certainly buy this right away unless the upgrade price is more than $299 for Atmosphere users. I have Trilogy as well and I'm almost tempted to get Stylus RMX now so I can qualify for the higher discount but we'll see what the prices are like.

Well I'm excited. Will have to wait for processing and shipping but it's ordered.

I have their three products so it was $155 and change (that's with ground shipping).

Easy enough ordering if you have your serial numbers ready.

$249 is a nice price for Atmosphere users - I ordered right away. I could have essentially gotten Omnisphere and Stylus RMX for $550 together but I don't if I'll have much use for Stylus right now so I just went with the upgrade only.

Here are some links from another forum.

Here are a couple patch tests I did. Note: patch tests, not musical compositions in any way. I finished installing my copy ca. 5 PM PST yesterday and some people asked for patch tests on another forum.

Thanks for posting these, Creator. Nice sounds indeed.

Been trying to talk myself out of buying Omnisphere. I have Atmosphere and have always believed it's all I would ever need. But everything I've read and seen about this new beast has me foaming at the mouth. And with the discount, it's really hard not to reach for the wallet.

Well, I'm installing mine at the mo. Man, it takes a long, long time. It says in the instructions to be patient as each disk can take 45 mins to install. They are not exagerating. I'm sure the first disk has taken longer than that! I recon at this rate it will take me about 6 or more hours to install!

I installed it last night. The first disc took the longest, and the 6th was much faster. I think it took two or three hours (I was doing other stuff at the time).

    First impressions...
The preset library does not represent the potential this has. The vocal sample are incredible, though there aren't that many presets that use them. The multi's are a cool edition, and the ability to stack them, split them by dragging the box across a keyboard is very cool.

It does seem to have a bit more of a learning curve than Atmo. I'm going to have to break down and read the manual. :-)

I just got Kontakt last month and I thought that was a bear to install - took about 3 hours. But this is the kind of pain that's fun to endure!

I'm getting CPU spikes, audio dropouts (plugin stops making sound altogether) and clicks/pops..yes I have all the updates. I have a Q6600 and 4 gigs of RAM. I'm hoping that the next update will address this pronto.

What OS are you using Jonas?

I'm using Vista 64 and don't seem to be having those problems, though I have noticed at times, when the sound stops, I get a click as though the sound engine were cut off before the decay was complete.

Yeah, I get that as well. I'm using XP with the 3 gig switch activated. Turning off the multiprocessor engine helps a little bit, but not entirely.

I just did all the Windows XP tricks recommended by Spectrasonics. I pretty much had done all of them already, with the exception of two settings...I forget which. Anyway, I'm happy to report that Omnisphere is working perfectly and my computer has never been snappier!

Are those XP tips on their website anywhere or are they included with the Omni packaging? I've done some tweaking to my machine, but I'm always open to looking under more rocks if it'll help performance.

I think you'll find them on the website. You have to log into the support page with your name and serial number. There is a section called Omnishpere and the tips can be found there.

If anyone has any other tips please post them!

Omnisphere is a very large peice of software isn't it? Does it install on your D drive with the other sample libraries or a combination of C and D?

You can tell it where to place the 40+GB sound library. Mine's on my G:drive, which is a 1TB drive dedicated to sounds, samples, etc.

How's it working with Sonar? Are you using Midi to trigger it? I looked at it today again, very nice looking synth, 50 Gb! and $500 smackers. All I want is the guitars at present.

Works really well on my rig (I'm still on Sonar 6.2.1). Out of the box there are some hiccups; some patches wouldn't load. But Spectrasonics was very quick to patch these issues. And with those patches in place it's sounding terrific. Can't wait to delve fully into it. I've already augmented some of my older projects with this thing. Neato.

Occasionally I get clicks when I press and release the keys on my MIDI keyboard while playing Omnisphere. Not major but sorta annoying. Thankfully, the clicks only happen when I'm playing and not during playback or after the sounds have been bounced. Still, I hope they address this just for the sake of making this thing perfect!
