OT: Ringtones

Hi,

I want to be able to create and give away (or possibly sell) ringtones of my some of my original music. Can anyone recommend a good web site where I can do this for free?

Thanks.

    ah you mean free ring-dings

errm on a more serious note, if it's free. most people are savy enough to know how to port an mp3 to the phone, via bluetooth etc.. you have to be careful of the levels etc.. as some phones have a really *cough* in built speaker.

paying ones, well you'd have to set it to send the file via wap.. there are big companies who would do that, and save you the headache. Just make sure your stuff is MCPS registered before giving it to any phone company if that's the route you wanted to take.

you could find a host, like say for your mp3 downloads of the music that also supports music, a fair few do now.

I am also interested in making ring tones with my music, but don't know a thing about 'wap'?, etc. I don't even use other ring tones than the ones originaly on the phone.

So do anyone know of a good site with info on home made ring tones?

I found a site that allows you to do this. It's myxer.com

Problem is, their ringtones (for whatever reason) are not very compatible with Verizon customers. In my area, Verizon is very popular, so using Myxer would leave a lot of people out.

I've used THIS ONE with Verizon cell phones. I've also just cut up sections of songs, converted to MP3 and emailed them to my phone via your 10 digit phone # @vzwpix.com . So it would be - 5551234567(at)vzwpix(dot)com

Thanks for the info, but this site looks like it allows you to create ringtones for yourself, but not to distribute or sell them to others.
