OT: Sonar and Hearing Aides

OT:  I'm a hobbiest who's finally got to face up to my hearing loss and see an audiologist.  I have moderate loss in both ears, but asymmetric enough that I notice the falloff of highs in the right.  Should be correctable for speech, but music is another ballpark. I'm deathly afraid the aides will curtail my mixing ability in Sonar (which has always been rudimentary anyway).  My question: if you use hearing aides with a DAW, can you recommend links, brands, suggestions on how to work with the audiologist.

I don't care that much about mixing for others as I do about hearing sufficient overtones (acoustic sounds) to achieve satisfactory balance and a realistic sound.  (Just plain listening to recordings is of course an important issue also.)

I apologize for posting this here.  There are forums for musicians with aides, but they're generally not that helpful and don't much touch on desktop DAW issues.   The moderators will move or remove I suppose, but I hope some of you good folks may have some leads before they do.

Many thanks,

Ron

EDIT -  Thanks mods for not moving this.  I'm hoping someone who actually uses a hearing aide and Sonar will eventually find this and help me out a bit.
